A dental implant is a small metal screw. It is made from a biocompatible titanium-and holds the tooth root. The dental implant is introduced directly into the bone of the maxilla or mandible, which then grows firmly around the implant surface. Depending on the situation, the healing period after a dental implant placement is usually from 6 to 12 weeks.
The first step in any treatment is diagnosis, (determine the current condition of your mouth). To do this, a professional should evaluate dental X-rays and other images like CT scans, create dental molds, and issue lab tests to determine the condition of the body before recommending dental implants. During your first consult, Dr. Anand, will take a dental X-ray to help make an initial diagnosis. She will go over the different approaches for treatment according to your budget. Once a treatment plan is chosen by you and Dr. Anand, the dental implants will be surgically placed.
